Dear New Horizon Family
I hope you are having a great week so far. With Spring Break this week I have noticed a change in the “atmosphere” and at times observed the excitement is tangible.
I was thinking about the meaning of “atmosphere”- the pervading tone or mood of a place, situation, or work of art. It’s a complex definition most adequately experienced and sensed. As Christians we live with the call by Christ to change the atmosphere, the mood of a place and situation. To change the World. We do this through the way we love and interact with others.John Wesley made it a simple day to day task –
Do all the good you can,
By all the means you can,
In all the ways you can,
In all the places you can,
At all the times you can,
To all the people you can,
As long as ever you can.
John WesleyThese sensed changes that happen at a glance or the most subtle of breaths that reverberate when we meet one another show us that we have power to make a huge impact on our lives and World of others.
The words we say that shift the atmosphere, how we make people feel in how we look at them and see them. How we treat others and interact with one another. Today as our Lenten journey draws us closer and closer to Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday we examine how to change the atmosphere of the World around us so that the gift of love flows to others and rests deeply in our Souls. Please don’t forget it’s come to Church on Sunday ready for the Church Picnic.
It’s going to be a beautiful day. We hope all can join us. Love and blessings to all our Community, special prayers to our grieving families and healing prayers to all who are in pain both physical and emotional and spiritual this week.
In Christs love Jacqui
