10/15/2025 A Note From Pastor Tammie

Greetings, friends of Jesus and friends of mine,
In such a time as this—when so many in our nation, in my homeland Haiti, and around the world are alarmed by what is happening both near and far—fear and uncertainty can easily take hold. We see it, we hear it, and we feel it. Immigrant families are anxious, children are afraid to go to school, and parents are worried to send them. Even sacred places are not exempt from violence.

We could pretend not to feel the pain all around us—or within us—but that would not be faithful to who we are in Christ. Beloved friends, I have one call for us: let us be intentional about loving one another. Let us remain in fellowship with Jesus and with each other, for in the end, love wins.
As Ecclesiastes 4:12 reminds us, “Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” (NIV)

It is a choice we must make: a choice to love, a choice to stay connected, a choice to remain in fellowship. Together, we cannot be broken. We cannot be fully human on our own. In that same spirit of fellowship and love, we will joyfully welcome eight new members into the New Horizon family, and thirteen others who have completed The Disciple’s Path will be recognized Sunday, the Lord willing. To God be the glory!
And dear friends, if for any reason you are feeling alone or in need of fellowship and prayer, please know we are here for you. Reach out to us and take part in one of our weekly classes or small groups—you will be blessed.

Thank you, family, for being the Church of Jesus Christ for such a time as this. We truly need each other now more than ever.

Love and Towel (St. John 13:1-5),
Pastor Tammie
