Mid-Week Briefing: A Call to Prayer and Praise
Greetings beloved friends in Christ,
The author of Hebrews encourages us to “encourage one another daily, as long as it is called ‘Today,’ so that your hearts will not be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness” (Hebrews 3:13). I have taken this verse to heart and have begun memorizing it, letting it shape my daily walk. I encourage you to do the same — to lift one another up, especially in times like these.
We are a people called to pray. Let us continue to lift up the hurting — families in Texas and around the world whose lives have been forever changed. Let us pray for peace in the midst of war and chaos. While the future of the world may seem uncertain, everything about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is very clear, steadfast, and trustworthy.
As Maxie Dunnam once stated, “Most people prefer the hell of a predictable situation rather than risk the joy of an unpredictable one.” Yet we are people of faith — and faith dares to step into the unknown, trusting in the joy of God’s promises.
Here at New Horizon, the Spirit is on the move:
- Our Leadership Team met for the first time yesterday after a full year of prayer and planning. Praise God! I look forward to introducing this team to you on Sunday, September 7, the Lord willing.
- New members are asking to join the church! What a joy to see our family growing.
- Our children and youth are away at Warren Willis Camp, accompanied by dedicated leaders and parent volunteers. Please keep them in your prayers as they encounter God in fresh and meaningful ways.
- Bible Study continues every Wednesday, a space where we open God’s Word and grow in grace together.
- We are praying daily with the sick — both at home and in the hospital. If you know someone who needs a visit or prayer, please let us know.
Let us stay faithful in prayer, grounded in Scripture, and alive in hope. You are loved, and you are not alone.
Love and Towel (St. John 13:1-5),
