Dear Beloved Community,
What a glorious time we are experiencing at New Horizon! This past Sunday’s worship was a true glimpse of heaven on earth. The testimonies shared by Mrs. Vida Gordon, Mrs. Jeannie Buckley, and Mr. Don Kneuer were not only uplifting but also a powerful reminder that “we overcome by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of our testimony” (Revelation 12:11). Thank you for boldly declaring what God has done. I eagerly await more testimonies at the end of the month, God willing. If you feel led to share your story, please reach out to Minister Glory or our Leadership Chair, Ginny.
We also rejoice in the warm, Spirit-filled atmosphere we shared together. There is a fresh wind of the Holy Spirit blowing through our church. The joy on each face and the loving embrace of this community are signs that Christ is present among us. Thank you for being such a faithful, welcoming, and vibrant church family.
It is with great joy that we welcome our new District Superintendent, Rev. Vidalis Lopez. We are thankful for the steadfast leadership of Rev. Dr. Osunlana and pray for his continued service in the Lord’s vineyard in the North East District. May God bless Rev. Lopez abundantly as she leads the South East District and partners with us in ministry. We look forward to serving together in the field God has prepared.
Our Vacation Bible School was a beautiful success! I wish you could have seen the wonder on my two-and-a-half-year-old granddaughter’s face when she stepped into the decorated narthex—pure joy. It truly was her kind of church! Thank you to every volunteer, staff member, and parent who helped make VBS an unforgettable week. Your efforts planted seeds of faith that will bear fruit for years to come.
A heartfelt thank you to Mary Kate Corbyons and the Learning Center for finishing a wonderful school year. The graduation of our little ones was truly joyful. Their excitement and pride filled our sanctuary and our hearts. It is a gift to witness the very beginnings of faith and education interwoven with such love.
Please join me in lifting up Christine Morales and our youth as they head to camp this week. May it be a time of deep encounter and joyful growth.
On a personal note, I am filled with peace and awe as I witness the transforming power of prayer in my daughter Taina’s life. Even as she continues chemotherapy, she is calm, uplifted, and healed from the inside out. That, to me, is the miracle: healing that begins in the soul. Thank you for your prayers and love. And yes—this Sunday I will bring pictures of our newest grandbaby! To God be the glory—great things He has done.
Each week I meet with faithful disciples who are discerning how to serve our community more deeply. I am confident of this: “He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus” (Philippians 1:6). God is doing something mighty in our midst.
Let us stay faithful. Let us stay expectant. Let us keep making room for the miracles that are yet to come.
Let’s gather this Sunday—bring your testimony, bring your joy, bring your open heart. A new season is rising. Let’s walk into it together.
With deep gratitude and great expectation,
Pastor Tammie
