8/28/2024 A Note From Pastor Tammie

Dear beloved sisters and brothers in Christ,

Grace and peace to each and every one of you in the precious name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It is always a blessing for me to remember you in my prayers and to write to you. Surely, The Lord is in our midst for we have been blessed with the encouragement we give and receive from one another. The men’s group met and had a wonderful meeting this month. Find out what they are doing and lend a hand. They will appreciate your support. Our youth continues to gather together, having amazing fellowship. Their baked sale was a blessing. Thanks, everyone for your continued support to the future church leaders: our youth. The Discipleship study under the leadership of Glory Tharp had a great start Sunday. They are enjoying the Lord and each other. The little friends are very happy at the Learning Center. Thank you, Lord, for a blessed year for all children, whether here or around the world. The office is finally back in the Mission Building. The staff couldn’t be happier to finally settle down.

I am inviting you to make every effort to attend in person the Sundays’ worship experiences. If you have been watching online and are able to come in person, I would encourage you to do so. May I ask when was the last time you invited a friend or neighbor to church? Come and see for yourself and invite someone to come along with you. You and a friend or neighbor both will be blessed.

We are having a special guest speaker Sunday. It is the Rev. John Gregory, Community Care Director from Samaritan Counseling Services of the Gulf Coast. Samaritan “provides counseling for individuals, couples, families, and children, as well as career, personality, and psychological assessments.” Come or join online and listen. The Good Lord has a special word of encouragement for you. You don’t want to miss it and if we can be of any assistance to you, we are always a phone call or a visit away. Another great reason to come and join us is that it is also Holy Communion Sunday. We enjoy eating the Holy Meal together. Jesus is Good for us. And, God expects us to come together faithfully.

Hebrews 10:25 admonishes: “And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.”

Love and Towel,

Pastor Tammie
