Dear New Horizon Family,
I hope you’re doing well.
This is my last letter to the most incredibly loving and courageous community. Serving you as your pastor for these two years has been an honor and a privilege. To be trusted by a community and loved is the most entire embodiment of the Christian Gospel, and I will forever hold you in my heart and memory.
“Nkosi Sikelel’ iAfrika” is a Christian hymn originally composed in 1897 by Enoch Sontonga, a Xhosa clergyman at a Methodist mission school near Johannesburg. This hymn became the national anthem for South Africa, reminding everyone of our hope and trust in God.
On this day, we anticipate the future and hold sacred spaces for memory. Our hope is in God. I will miss you deeply but know that ‘little by little, day by day, what’s meant for you will find its way’ (Proverbs). I look forward to worshiping with you on Sunday at 10:15 a.m.
“Nkosi Sikelel NEW HORIZON!
Love Jacqui
