Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Please allow me to share this humorous and yet thought-provoking story with you.
A preacher invited those in need of prayer to come forward. A young man named Leroy responded, seeking prayer for his hearing. The preacher laid hands on Leroy and offered a heartfelt prayer. Afterward, he asked, “Leroy, how is your hearing now?” Leroy replied, “I don’t know. My hearing ain’t ’til Thursday.”
This anecdote highlights how easily words can be misunderstood. Let us pray for patience and understanding with one another, recognizing we are one family in Christ.
As believers, we must:
1. Give each other the benefit of the doubt.
2. Seek clarification before judgment.
3.Allow the Holy Spirit to guide and correct.
Matthew 11:15 reminds us, “Anyone with ears to hear should listen and understand!” May we listen with compassion and empathy. Dear Heavenly Father, Grant us patience and understanding. Help us to listen with love. May Your Holy Spirit guide us. In Christ’s Name we pray. Amen.
Don’t forget to join us in person this Sunday, the Lord willing! Invite a neighbor or a friend.
Love and Towel (St. John 13:1-5),
