10/1/2025 A Note From Pastor Tammie

Greetings, friends of Jesus and beloved friends of mine,

It has been a busy and fruitful season at New Horizon! We recently gathered for our annual Church Conference in Hollywood, where our church was well represented—about 17 members attended, many for the very first time. Countless hours of preparation went into completing the conference forms, presenting to the district office who will in turn submit the reports to Bishop and his cabinet. We thank God for another faith-filled year in the Spirit of Christ.

I want to especially recognize and celebrate all our volunteers—the men and women of God who have said “yes” to leadership with sacrificial love. Your dedication makes a difference, and we truly covet your prayers as we continue the work of the church. Thank you, team, for a job well done!

Over the past week, I have been blessed to pray and visit with those in the hospital, officiate a special charge conference, strengthen bonds with our congregation, prepare candidates for ministry, and continue my studies in the Reynolds Program in Church Leadership. I have also been preparing messages, enjoying early morning walks in the quiet of the neighborhood, and spending precious time in prayer, meditation, and discernment with colleagues and covenant sisters.

A special joy this past weekend was welcoming a 12-year-old and her 7-year-old brother into the house. I love to spoil them while they’re here—and gladly return them to their parents afterwards! What a delight. Truly, we serve an awesome God.

As a church, let us continue to pray for peace—in our hearts, in our community, and across the world. May peace begins with each of us.

 Upcoming Events:

·       Cross-Cultural Training – Saturday, November 15 (led by conference leaders)

·       Special Mission Outreach – Saturday, December 6

New Horizon is moving forward with Christ—always in love and service.

Scripture of Encouragement:
“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” – Galatians 6:9

With love and the towel,
