Dear beloved friends in Christ,
Grace and peace to you in the middle of this week.
Our hearts are heavy as we continue to hold in prayer the families who have lost children and loved ones in recent shootings—both last week and in the weeks before. We cannot imagine the depth of their grief, but we can surround them with our prayers, asking that the Lord who is “close to the brokenhearted” (Psalm 34:18) will carry them in His love.
Please take a moment each day this week to lift up these families in prayer.
· Pray for parents grieving the loss of their children.
· Pray for communities shaken by violence.
· Pray for peace, healing, and justice in our world.
Let us also remember our own church family members who may be carrying quiet burdens. Reach out with a kind word, a phone call, or even a prayer text. Encouragement shared is a light in the dark.
This coming Sunday we will gather for worship, Holy Communion, and fellowship around the table. Communion reminds us that in Christ we are bound together in love and hope, no matter what the world brings against us. Following worship, we will share a churchwide Potluck meal to welcome one another with joy and gratitude.
Please bring a dish to share—and even more importantly, bring a friend or family member. Invite someone who needs encouragement, community, or a reminder that they are not alone.
May the God of comfort and strength walk with you through the rest of this week.
In Christ’s love,
Love and Towel (St. John 13:1-5),
