Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.         Colossians 3:14

The church is the body of Christ and the clothes it wears is love.  What a great image.  They say clothes make the person and certainly they express a personality and style.  It is clear that the personality and style of the church is love.

When we look at someone, the thing we see is their clothes and what they are wearing.  When the world looks at the church, at the Christian person, they see love.  Are we wearing our love so well that others see only love?  For followers of Christ love should be obvious.

Love is expressed in so many ways, but it is expressed; it is action.  The words of love only carry deep meaning when the love can be seen and felt through action.  Love is demonstrated.  The call of this scripture is to “put on” love, to take up the lifestyle of actively loving others and expressing the love of Christ.

I know there is a way you can express love today.  Practice love daily and let it become a lifestyle.  Like anything else, the more we practice love the better we get at it.  Express love today, give a gift, share a kind word, serve in a way that blesses someone.  Then do it again and again.  Let love “clothe” your life.
