The Shepherd’s Vigil, 06/15/22

There are times when I feel overwhelmed by all of the things that are going wrong. I assume you feel the same way now and then. It always seems to happen that chaos swirls around me as everything goes wrong at once-the roof leaks, a friend needs help, a loved one is suffering with cancer, your child is sick, the car battery dies…not to mention the things we hear about on the news.

Sometimes I feel adrift with nothing to anchor me.

I have learned with experience, though, that I can count on the God who loves me to be there with me every step of the way. Here is a brief verse that I use to remind me-hopefully it can remind you today -that God is there for us. Hebrews 6:19 says “This hope, which is a safe and secure anchor for our whole being, enters the sanctuary behind the curtain.”

Jesus goes before us to welcome us into God’s anchoring presence. Thank you God that you are reliable and trustworthy even amidst our chaos!

Blessings, Pastor Lisa
