Ruth Stallone. a sister in Christ here at our church and faithful member, encouraged me to read Mystic Sweet Communion By Jane Kirkpatrick. Set in turn-of-the-century Florida, it is a biography of Ivy Cromartie Stranahan, the first English-speaking teacher in the region, as she struggles to teach school in the Seminole Nation and lead Indian families to Christ. Plan on purchasing the book so we can come together to share in its discussion.
