A Note From Pastor Jacqui, 08/24/22

Dear New Horizon Family,

So often in life we are called to make choices. To put our X in the box that marks what we
believe in. Some of our choices are great and others not so, but we live by our own choices or those made by others.
At times this leaves us pleased or angry, included of or alienated, winners or losers and during it all we are called to be people of the Kingdom of God, where often the binary choices in this World lead us into places of disquiet.

In all our choices today, I would like to leave you with the Serenity Prayer. Written by the American theologian Dr. Niebuhr. He offered a prayer which was later adopted by Alcoholics Anonymous and the 12 Step Program but was mostly written as a faith prayer for living courageous real lives, as real people surrendered to the pains and triumphs of living life – so here it is:
God give me the serenity to accept things which cannot be changed; Give me
courage to change things which must be changed; And the wisdom to distinguish one from the other.
Whatever you face this week, may peace and serenity find you.
Live your most courageous life this week.
With love Jacqui
