Dear New Horizon Family,
As you settle into a new week our prayers are especially with those going through transition in all its many forms this week, particularly those at the beginning of a new school year.
This past Sunday was a joy to pray with those in Church and online and Sunday night meeting with Families was loads of fun. A special moment of ministry was shared Sunday afternoon with Nourishing Lives as over 150 backpacks were distributed to families.
Our lives are filled with all sorts, and I have had many conversations this week with people who have mentioned how “time flies” and how quickly it passes especially when toddlers become first graders and our ‘babies’ are suddenly seniors?
Where did it go? How do we harness the moments of life that are precious.
I wanted to share with you from a wonderful Christian, Rev Frederick Buechner, who passed away at the age of 96 years old, as a novelist, leading global theologian, Presbyterian minister. He spoke often of how we are invited to listen to our lives. Here is a beautiful invitation of how we listen to our lives.
“Listen to your life. See it for the fathomless mystery it is. In the boredom and pain of it, no less than in the excitement and gladness: touch, taste, smell your way to the holy hidden heart of it, because in the last analysis all moments are key moments, and life itself is grace.” Frederick Buechner
Listen in every season, as the moments unfold and enjoy the tiny hidden places of grace!
We look forward to seeing you on Sunday as we celebrate in Worship and welcome you back on Sunday afternoon from 2pm-4:30pm for the Church wide meeting with Rev Tim Smiley. Everyone is invited to share their hopes and dreams for our Church.
Blessings in Christ Jacqui
