5/27/2026 A Note From Pastor Tammie

Dear beloved friends of Jesus and my friends,

What a glorious Pentecost Sunday we shared together! The sanctuary was aflame with worship, joy, and the presence of the Holy Spirit. We were reminded once again that the Spirit of God is alive and moving in God’s Church.

A special thank you to Mrs. Peggy Goodwin, who made sure the sanctuary was literally glowing with the fire of Pentecost for her Jesus. Thank you, Peggy, for your faithfulness, creativity, and servant’s heart.

This past Sunday was also Heritage Sunday and Memorial Weekend. Together, we paused to remember who we are, where we come from, and where we are headed. As Christians, we live with one foot in this world and one foot in eternity. This world is our home—and yet not our final home. We look forward to the day when the Lord will remake heaven and earth anew. What a glorious day that will be!

As we reflected on Memorial Day, we also gave thanks for the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation so that we may live in safety and freedom in this beautiful land of opportunity. Their sacrifice calls us to gratitude, humility, and prayer for our country.

The words of “America the Beautiful” capture this prayer well:

“O beautiful for patriot dream that sees beyond the years thine alabaster cities gleam, undimmed by human tears!
America! America! God mend thine every flaw, confirm thy soul in self-control,
thy liberty in law.”

Scripture reminds us:
“But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ.” — Philippians 3:20.
Holy Spirit, keep Your fire burning within us as we honor the past, serve faithfully in the present, and look with hope toward the glorious future You have prepared. Amen.

Love and Towel (St. John 13:1-5),
Pastor Tammie
